BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins graduate midfielder
Abby Birk has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This is the fourth conference weekly honor of her career.
Birk led Hopkins to a pair of wins over top-10 opponents to open the season. She totaled four goals and one assist in the two games. Birk notched her first career hat trick, and had the game-winner, in Hopkins' season-opening win over #10 Washington & Lee. She followed that with a goal and an assist (on the game-winner) as JHU shutout #8 Messiah on the road. Her goal against the Falcons pushed her over 100 career points as she became just the third player in program history to reach the milestone.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, September 7 as the Blue Jays host the York Spartans at 5:00 pm.
