Miller Garners Second Centennial Conference Player of the Week Honors

LANCASTER, PA – Following her career outing in a win over Ursinus last Saturday, Johns Hopkins women's basketball's Greta Miller was named the Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week, as released by the conference this morning. This is the junior's second time claiming the award this season as she joins the Bears' Chinwe Irondi as the only players to win it multiple times.

Matching up against a tough Ursinus team, Miller took over setting new career-high marks in points (25), rebounds (17) and assists (5), adding a pair of steals and a block in the 67-58 win. It was the Park Ridge, IL native's third double-double of the season and second against a conference opponent, with Miller's 17 boards also serving as the most in an inter-conference match this year.

The junior becomes the first Blue Jays player to tally a 25/15/5 game in at least the last 25 years as she is now averaging an impressive 14 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in conference play. A much-improved shooter from a season ago, Miller is also shooting just under 44% from 3-point territory on the year and ranks second on the team with 14 made 3-pointers after combining for just 10 across her first two seasons.

Hopkins and Miller will look to stay hot in the Blue Jays' return to action Thursday, Jan. 11 when they take on Swarthmore. Tip-off for the Centennial Conference bout is set for 5 p.m.
