Johns Hopkins Tops Bryn Mawr, 3-0

BALTIMORE, MD - Senior midfielder Alix Batty (Gloversville, NY/Choate Rosemary Hall) and junior defender Lauren Hanlon (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) each scored in the first 10 minutes of the game and the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory against Bryn Mawr College in Centennial Conference action today at Homewood Field.

Batty opened the scoring in the 7th minute with her first goal of the season off a cross from sophomore midfielder Annie Colabella (East Granby, CT/East Granby). The assist was the first for Colabella in her career. Hanlon added her first tally of the year two minutes later on a shot from the left wing to give Hopkins a 2-0 advantage.

Sophomore midfielder Leah Blom (Needham, MA/Needham) scored the final goal of the match, her third of the season, in the 38th minute off a feed from freshman midfielder Sandra Lebo (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor).

Sophomore Annie Adamczyk (Georgetown, MA/Governor Dummer) picked up the victory for JHU without recording a save as the Blue Jays outshot Bryn Mawr 27-0 and held a 17-0 advantage on corner kicks. Sarah Caldwell made 17 saves for the Mawrters.

The Blue Jays will return to action on Tuesday with an away match against Western Maryland beginning at 4:00 p.m. JHU leads the all-time series 6-4, including two victories last season, a 2-1 decision during the regular season and a 4-0 win in the ECAC Championship game.
