Updated: July 30, 2025
Johns Hopkins has produced 105 individual national champions (including swimming and track relays) since Bill Milne claimed the school's first in 1971. Milne won nine NCAA Championships, in the 100 & 200 Fly and 200 IM, from 1971 to 1974. He is one of three Johns Hopkins men's swimmers to have won a school-record nine NCAA titles. Bill Smiddy (1977-79) and Jonathan Blank (1979-1981) each won nine NCAA titles during their respective careers.
Milne's record of nine individual national titles was tied in 2024 by Victoria Kadiri, who won five titles at the NCAA Women's Track Outdoor Championships and four at the NCAA Women's Track Indoor Championships from 2022-24. In addition to matching Milne's overall JHU record with her nine individual titles, Kadiri's nine championships are the most by a Blue Jay female athlete.
Ana Bogdanovski (2012-2015) leads the women's swim program with 10 NCAA titles, including a stunning six titles at the 2014 NCAA Championship.
