Kadiri Goes Back-To-Back, Women's Track & Field Finishes Third at NCAAs

Bartlett and Phillips Tabbed First Team All-Americans

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – After earning second and third-place finishes during Day 1 of the Division III NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday afternoon, Johns Hopkins' Victoria Kadiri ended her weekend on its highest note, taking home the individual title in the triple jump for the second straight year. The senior's efforts, as well of those of the Blue Jays' six other First Team All-Americans, lifted Hopkins to a third-place finish — the best in program history — with 33 points.

Having career days alongside the senior were Sara Barlett and Lauren Phillips, who set personal-best marks in the triple jump and 400-meter race respectively, earning them two of the Jays' nine All-American designations, the program's most in a single season in its history.

Hopkins started its day with the triple jump, with Kadiri never truly being challenged en route to her second straight crown and fourth overall of her indoor career. The senior claimed the five best jumps on the day, with her meet-best 12.73 meters serving as the third longest in program history and more than enough to secure the win and 10 points.

Bartlett was just as impressive in her NCAA Championship debut, setting a career-best mark of 11.91 meters on her first jump of the day. The junior's mark held on to be the eight-best of the day to earn Bartlett — the lone competitor in the first flight of athletes to advance to the final — First Team All-America honors.

The Blue Jays' NCAA Championship concluded with the 400, in which Phillips also put together the best performance of her career en route to a podium finish. The junior broke her own program record in the event, crossing the line in 55 seconds flat to finish third and earn Hopkins six more points.

Loras won the NCAA Championship with 51 points followed closely behind in second by WashU at 49, with Hopkins' 33 points narrowly edging out Rochester (4th – 32 points) and MIT (30 – points) for the final podium spot.

This concludes the 2023-24 indoor track & field season. The Blue Jays' outdoor season kicks off Saturday, March 30 when they compete at the Navy Outdoor Invitational.
