ALLENTOWN, PA - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team lost to top-seeded Muhlenberg, 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-26), today in the Centennial Conference Tournament semifinals. The Blue Jays finish the season with a 16-14 record, marking the team's eighth consecutive winning season. Head coach Chris Weidenborner has led the Blue Jays to a 67-40 (.626) record over the past three seasons.
Offensively, Hopkins was led once again by senior outside hitter Emily Miller (Richmond, VA/Governor's School) with 13 kills and junior middle hitter Elisabeth Breese (Geneva, NY/Geneva) with nine kills. Miller finishes the season just seven kills shy of the 400-mark, while Breese totaled a career-high 337 kills this year. Freshman Catherine Albright (Louisville, CO/Fairview) chipped in with a career-high five kills and also added 12 digs.
Freshman setter Betsy Baydala (Rockville Centre, NY/South Side) totaled a team-high 18 digs and added two service aces to tie the school-record for aces in a single season at 84. Junior setter Courtney Cromwell (Carle Place, NY/Carle Place) was second on the squad with a season-high 16 digs.
