ATLANTA, GA - Sophomore guard Maureen Myers (Waverly, PA/Abington Heights) scored 12 points to lead four players in double figures as the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team survived a non-conference game with Emory University, 69-67, tonight in Atlanta. The Blue Jays improved to 8-1 overall, while Emory fell to 2-5 on the year.

Myers was joined in double figures by junior center Kathy Darling (Milford, DE/Milford) and sophomore forward Trista Snyder (West Chester, PA/Unionville) with 11 points each and freshman forward Ashanna Randall (Media, PA/Penncrest) with 10 points. Darling also added a team-high eight rebounds.

Junior guard Ashley Shepler (Tornado, WV/Charleston Catholic) totaled three assists to become the eighth player in school history to reach the 200-assist mark with 201.

Emory was led by Beth Byron with a game-high 23 points and Stephanie Seibert with 16 points.

The Blue Jays return to action Sunday with a non-conference game at Brandeis scheduled to begin at noon.
