ROCHESTER, NY - The third -ranked University of Rochester men's basketball team got a game-high 19 points and eight rebounds from Seth Hauben and 17 points and six rebounds from Andy Larkin as the Yellowjackets rolled past Johns Hopkins, 72-48 in the opening round of the Rochester Tournament. The Yellowjackets improve to 4-0 with the win and will face Wisconsin Eau-Claire in the championship game Saturday afternoon.The Blue Jays (3-1) had their season-opening three-game winning streak snapped and will play 15th-ranked Calvin in the consolation game. Wisconsin Eau-Claire defeated Calvin, 78-73 in the other first-round game.

Johns Hopkins jumped out to a 22-15 lead with less than nine minutes remaining in the first half behind the sharp shooting of junior guard Kevin Marquez, who scored all of his 11 points in the first 12 minutes of the game.Rochester stormed back to take a 32-27 halftime advantage as the 'Jackets used a 15-0 run over a seven-minute span late in the first half to take the lead for good. A running three-pointer by senior Jay Kreider at the buzzer drew the Blue Jays to within five at the break.

Rochester lead 47-38 with 11 minutes remaining in the second half before putting the game away with a 12-0 run over a four-minute span to extend the lead to 59-38. The Blue Jays were never closer than 15 the rest of the way.

Senior Steve Adams and Marquez led the Blue Jays with 11 points each, but Rochester shot 56% from the floor and out-rebounded Hopkins, 33-16 to pick up the victory.
