BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team was dominant in a 3-0 win over Washington College at Homewood Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Jays scored all three goals in the first half and held on for the shutout victory. JHU improves to 3-1 in the conference and 9-3-1 overall.
Sophomore forward Meg McIntosh (Los Angelas, CA/Brentwood) got the Blue Jays on the board when she scored off a crossing pass from freshman forward Lauren Baumann (Milford, MI/Greenmills School) at the 18:26 mark. McIntosh netted her second goal of the game on another crossing pass from Baumann at 30:29, making the score 2-0. McIntosh has scored four goals in the last three games and now has five tallies this season.
Freshman forward Jessica McKenzie (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) closed out the scoring for Hopkins when she ripped a shot over the goalkeeper's head from 25 yards out at 42:41. Junior midfielder Kathleen Turley (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park) assisted on the goal.
Junior goalkeeper Jennifer Chapman (Alexandria, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) turned away seven shots for the Shorewomen. Hopkins controlled possession throughout the game finishing with an 18-1 shot advantage.
