HAVERFORD, PA - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team picked up its first conference win of the season with a 3-0 win over Haverford, which was played in Haverford, Pennsylvania on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays won by scores of 34-32, 30-28 and 30-24. JHU improves to 1-1 in conference play and 14-6 overall.
Junior setter Betsy Baydala (Rockville Centre, NY/South Side) was again the catalyst for the Blue Jays offense recording 58 assists and adding 12 digs. Senior outside hitter Stephanie Kaliades (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) led Hopkins with 17 kills, while sophomore Kate O'Callaghan (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) and junior Skye Young (Salisbury, MD/James M. Bennett) combined for 21 kills. O'Callaghan also led JHU with 22 digs. .
The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday, October 11 when they host Franklin & Marshall at 11:00 a.m. and Ursinus at 2:00 p.m
