Adams Leads Hopkins To 75-65 Win At Dickinson

Carlisle, PA - Johns Hopkins senior forward Steve Adams (Butler, PA/Butler) scored a game-high 27 points and added a team-best 11 rebounds to post his fifth double-double of the season and lead the Blue Jays to a 75-65 win over Dickinson in Centennial Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center.

Hopkins improves to 16-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference with the victory. The Blue Jays remain one game behind Gettysburg in the battle for second place in the league's West Division, as the Bullets defeated McDaniel, 68-66, earlier on Saturday. The Red Devils, who got 18 points and a game-high 17 rebounds from Jon Schwadron, fell to 7-15 overall and 2-9 in the conference.

Adams hit 12-of-16 shots from the field and hit all three of his free throws to post his third highest point total of the season, while junior guard Kevin Marquez (Oakton, VA/Oakton) added nine points. Senior forward Jay Kreider (Sykesville, MD/River Hill) chipped in eight points and five rebounds and sophomore forward Eric Toback (Ellicott City, MD/Mount Hebron) added seven points and seven rebounds for Hopkins, which out-rebounded Dickinson, 40-28.

The Blue Jays shot 50 percent from the field and hit 16-of-19 free throws to remain in the playoff chase.
