BALTIMORE, MD - Freshman Kaitlin Giannetti (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) headed in the winning goal at the 119:27 mark to give the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Haverford at Homewood Field on Saturday night.
The game-winner was assisted by senior midfielder Erinn Sosa (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) on a perfectly placed corner kick. At 82:44 Giannetti headed in another corner kick from Sosa to tie the game, 1-1. In a physical game Haverford pulled ahead, 1-0, on an Ashley Emmons (Mesa, AZ/Dobson) header at 68:13. The assist came off of a Cathy Carbonaro (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) corner kick,
JHU goalkeepers Jen Goebel (Jericho, NY/Jericho) and Annie Adamczyk (Georgetown, MA/Governor Dummer) combined to make four saves in the win. Fords senior goalkeeper Jen Trowbridge (Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams) recorded seven saves in a game that the Blue Jays out-shot Haverford 15-7.
