Hopkins sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Riddick (Crozet, VA/St. Anne's-Belfield) stopped eight shots in goal for the Blue Jays, whose eight-game winning streak ties for the longest since Hopkins moved to Division I. Eagles goalie Kathleen Finnegan made 13 saves for American, which fell to the Blue Jays for the fifth straight year.
Hopkins held a 33-23 advantage in shots and a 29-26 edge in ground balls while winning 13 of the 22 draw controls. Junior Lacey-Leigh Hentz (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) picked up five ground balls, won two draw controls and caused two turnovers, while senior Kate Gilland (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) also collected five ground balls and Key won a game-high four draws.
