Oct. 7, 2005

Box Score

SWARTHMORE, PA - Junior Laurie Baumann (Milford, MI/Greenhills School) netted her second game-winner in as many days to lead #14 Johns Hopkins (11-1-1, 4-0-1) past Swarthmore (2-8-3, 0-4-2), 2-1, in Centennial Conference women's soccer Friday night.

Baumann put the Blue Jays on top for good in the 65th minute, jumping over a crowd in front of the net to head in a corner kick from junior Jessie McKenzie (Morristown, NJ/Morristown). This was the fourth goal in two games for Baumann, who now has six on the season.

In the 34th minute, freshman Francesca Peretti (North Easton, MA/Oliver Ames) opened up the scoring with her first collegiate goal.

The Garnet responded at 36:39, when sophomore Danielle Tocchet found the back of the net on a pass from freshman Melinda Petre, knotting the score at one.

Hopkins will return to Homewood Field on Tuesday, October 11 to face the Bullets of Gettysburg at 7 p.m.
