LANCASTER, PA - Junior Julie Miller scored a game-high 23 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team to a 66-61 victory at Franklin & Marshall Wednesday night. The Blue Jays placed three players in double figures and improve to 11-4 overall and 8-1 in the Centennial Conference. F&M slips to 4-9 overall, 2-5 in the Centennial. The win was also the 350th at Johns Hopkins for Blue Jay women's basketball coach Nancy Funk, who improved to 350-152 in 20 seasons at Homewood. She is 476-241 in 29 seasons overall.

Miller was effective in both the first and second halves as she scored 11 points before intermission and 12 after the break. The Diplomats led 31-30 at halftime as Sarah Meisenberg scored 10 of her team-high 17 points in the first half to lead the way. But the Blue Jays picked up the pace in the second half as senior Katie Kimball scored 13 of her 15 points in the game in the second half and Hopkins hit 12-of-15 second-half free throws to seal the victory.

Miller's 23-point effort came on 10-of-19 shooting, while Kimball added the 15 points and five rebounds. Junior Haley Wojdowski pushed her streaks of consecutive games scoring in double figures to seven games as she scored 10 points and added seven rebounds and three assists. Prior to this seven-game run Wojdowski had scored in double figures just three times in her first 55 career games.

The Diplomats were led by Meisenberg's 17 points, while Amanda Miceli added 13 and Maxie Etess chipped in with 12. The Blue Jays did a good job of shutting down Dana Johns, the reigning Centennial Conference Player of the Year as Johns hit just 1-of-10 shots from the floor and managed just three points and seven rebounds in the loss.

With the win the Blue Jay move into a first-place tie in the Centennial Conference with Dickinson and Muhlenberg. Dickinson, which entered the night with an 8-0 CC record, slipped to 8-1 with a 48-45 loss to Gettysburg. Muhlenberg improved to 8-1 in the league with a 53-46 overtime victory against Ursinus.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday when the Blue Jays travel to Bryn Mawr. Hopkins won the first game between the two teams, 79-38 on January 7.
