LANCASTER, PA - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team pushed the match to a fifth and decisive game but it was not enough as Hopkins fell 3-2 at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays saw their two match win streak snapped (11-10, 2-2) as the game scores were 21-30, 31-29, 25-30, 30-25, 19-21.
Sophomore Amanda Lewis (San Antonio, TX/St. Mary's Hall) recorded her eighth double-double of the year and third in as many matches with 68 assists and 23 digs on the day. Fellow sophomore Kim Jackanich (Pacifica, CA/St. Ignatius College Prep) recorded her sixth double-double of the year and second in as many matches with a team-high 19 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Allison Cappelaere (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) recorded a double-double as well for the match with 14 kills and 26 digs.
Adrienne Young (Oakton, VA/Thomas Jefferson) contributed 15 kills and Natalia Fijalkowski (Windsor, CA/Windsor) posted 11 kills on the match. Senior Lizzie Kay (Pacific Palisades, CA/The Cate School) recorded a team-high 29 digs on the night while fellow senior Adri Eisen (New York, NY/Trinty) had 12 digs for the match.
After three straight matches on the road, Hopkins returns home to host Dickinson College on Wednesday, October 14th at 7 p.m.
