LEXINGTON, VA - Tyler Schmidt's 5-0 decision win over Kirk Adamson gave the Johns Hopkins wrestling team squeaked by Washington & Lee 18-17 in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays (4-10, 2-3 CC) who trailed 17-15 entering the final match won their second straight dual meet.
Marco Priolo recorded his 29th win of the year with a 5-1 decision at 141-pounds on Saturday. James Gettinger followed that up by recording a 5-2 decision over Eric Gagne at 149-pounds for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays swept from 174 to 285-pounds on the day. At 174-pounds David Kraus picked up a 1-0 win over Jesse Sataloff. Eric Fishel recorded the 2-1 decision over Max Courtney at 184-pounds. Schmidt had the win at 197 and Vincent Domestico decisioned John Christopher 4-3 at 285-pounds.
Hopkins returns to the mat on February 10th when it takes on Kings Point and Stevens Tech at 12 noon.
