PRINCETON, NJ - The Johns Hopkins water polo team defeated Bucknell 11-9 on Sunday in the third place match at the CWPA Southern Championships. The Blue Jays advance to the Eastern Championships hosted by Navy, Nov. 21-23.

Fifth-seeded Hopkins opened the championship with an 11-7 win over fourth-seeded Mercyhurst, enacting some revenge for a 16-11 loss to the Lakers earlier this season. Hopkins then faced off against Navy in the semifinals. The Midshipmen prevailed, 16-6, sending the Blue Jays to the third-place match against the Bison of Bucknell.
