CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Johns Hopkins men's water polo team lost 16-7 to #12 St. Francis Sunday afternoon in the ECAC Championship match. For the Blue Jays it is their highest ever finish at the championships. Hopkins had finished in fifth place for four straight seasons before Sunday's runner-up finish.
Sixth-seeded Hopkins (5-6) opened the weekend with a 12-2 win over host and third-seeded Harvard on Saturday morning. JHU then defeated second-seeded George Washington in the semifinals, 10-9 on Saturday night.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, Sept. 26 when Bucknell visits for an 8:00 pm match.
