Box Score

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team rose to 2-0 in the Centennial Conference (6-0-2 overall) after a tough battle in the rain with Swarthmore. Freshman Paulina Goodman (Sherman Oaks, CA/Van Nuys) knocked a shot past Swarthmore's Lauren Walker for the Blue Jays only goal.

Head coach Leo Weil continues his climb to the 200-win mark, notching No. 197 on Saturday against Swarthmore. Weil currently has the most victories by any women's soccer coach in Centennial Conference history.

Goodman was able to split the Garnet defense off a pass from sophomore Rhiannon Desideri (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) for the game-winner at 75:46. It marks the second goal of her career. Goodman now has five points on the season.

The Blue Jays made several attempts on goal, forcing Swarthmore goalkeeper Lauren Walker to make six saves. Sophomore Allie Zazzali (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) headed a shot at the late in the first half, but couldn't get past Walker. Senior Molly Steele (Daleville, VA/North Cross) poked a shot just wide at the 54-minute mark as the rain hindered the play of both benches throughout the match.

Hopkins is unbeaten at home in its five matches at Homewood Field.

The Blue Jays will travel to Dickinson College on September 30 to face the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m.
