Dallas, PA - The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team extended their winning streak to four as it defeated Misericordia, 2-0. The Blue Jays earned their fourth straight shutout, marking just the third time in program history that Hopkins has opened its season with four consecutive shutouts.
Junior co-captain Natalie Held (Potomac, MD/Churchill) scored Hopkins' first goal inside the two minute mark to put the Blue Jays up ,1-0. It was Held's first goal of the season.
Freshman Erica Suter (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) notched the third goal of her career in four games. The goal came in the middle of the first half off a pass from freshman Paulina Goodman (Sherman Oaks, CA/Van Nuys).
Head coach Leo Weil is rapidly approaching his 200th career win at Hopkins as tonight's victory was the 195th of his career.
The 20th-ranked Blue Jays return to action on September 10 when they host Messiah at Homewood Field. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
