BRYN MAWR, PA - Leading by just three after the first half, the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team went on to capture a 62-41 victory over Bryn Mawr. It marks the second consecutive Centennial Conference win this season and gives the Blue Jays a 4-7 (2-2 Centennial) mark. Bryn Mawr falls to 1-9 (0-6 Centennial) on the year.
JHU used an 18-4 run to open the second half with senior Kristin Phillips and sophomore Lyndsay Burton each scoring eight points to propel the Blue Jays to a 46-29 lead with 13:02 to play. Hopkins would score five of the next six baskets to extend its grip over the Owls to 25 points at 7:03.
A jumper from Siobhan Callanan at 2:45 gave the Blue Jays their biggest lead of the game, 62-34. The Owls ended the game with a 7-0 run for a 62-41 final.
Sophomore Lyndsay Burton finished with 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Blue Jays. Senior Kristin Phillips scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Junior Monica Mitchell also grabbed seven rebounds, while senior Caitlin Sloane lit it up from beyond the arc, hitting 3-of-5 for nine points.
