BALTIMORE, MD- The Johns Hopkins volleyball team finished its regular season with a win over Ursinus in three straight sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-18). The Blue Jays finish the season with a record of 16-10 overall and 5-5 in the Centennial Conference. The Bears of Ursinus have an 8-17 record and are 2-8 in the conference.
Sophomore Sarah Feicht (Autin, TX/James Bowie) and senior Alex Zenoff lead the Blue Jay offense with nine and eight kills respectively. Freshman Becky Paynter (Columbia, MD/River Hill) had 16 assists and senior Kristen Kozielski (Columbia, MD/Atholton) had 13 assists.
For Ursinus, Mary Kate Wilmoth had 12 kills and Elizabeth Roth had 27 helpers. Jennifer Fargo had a team high 29 digs.
The Blue Jays did everything they needed to do to make the playoffs, but Muhlenberg beat Gettysburg on October 30, giving them a 6-4 record in the Centennial Conference and the fifth and final playoff spot. Thus, the Hopkins volleyball season has comes to an end on a three game winning streak, with wins over Bryn Mawr, McDaniel, and Ursinus.
