Hopkins Blanks Stevenson, 3-0

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team won its fourth consecutive match Wednesday night, defeating Stevenson, 3-0. The Blue Jays push their record to 10-2 while the Mustangs fall to 6-6 on the season. Head coach Greg Giovanazzi posted his 200th overall career victory, while pushing his record at JHU to 30-9. Giovanazzi's winning percentage (.769) is the highest in the program's history.

Melissa Cole (Walnut, CA) led Hopkins in kills (nine), and senior Allison Cappelaere (Ellicott City, MD) recorded a team-high in digs (10). Freshman Becky Paynter recorded 15 assists, notching her 11th double digit assist game of the season.

Freshman Amelia Thomas (Baltimore, MD) provided a spark off the bench fueling an 8-0 run to win the third set, 25-12.

The Blue Jays return to action on Friday, September 25 when they face Virginia Wesleyan in the opening match of the Salisbury Invitational.
