Swarthmore, PA - The 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team defeated 20th-ranked Swarthmore Saturday afternoon, 1-0. The Blue Jays improve to 7-2 with the win, while the Garnet fall to, 7-2.

Sophomore Ava Scheininger (Westfield, NJ) scored in the 37th minute, and the Hopkins defense held off a late push by Swarthmore to secure the Blue Jays' fifth consecutive victory. The Blue Jays finished the game outshooting the Garnet 23-6, while they also held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Karen Guszkowski (Sayreville, NJ) tallied four saves in route to her fourth shutout of the season.

Hopkins returns to action this Tuesday, September 29 when the Blue Jays host Dickinson. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
