BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins women's swim team picked up a win over host Loyola (213-151), but fell to St. Francis (170-162) and Richmond (205-147) at the annual Thomas Murphy Invitational. The Blue Jays are now 2-2 on the season. The Blue Jays won four events on the day, two relay and two individual events.

Hopkins opened the day with a third place finish in the 200 Free Relay as Annie Tsay, Daniela Villegas, Alex Ladd and Elizabeth Rogers swam a combined time of 1:38.97. Nicole Wain was the Blue Jays' top finisher in the 400 IM with a time of 4:51.45 for eighth place. Taylor Kitayama then took second in the 100 Fly, clocking in at 58.32, just 0.19 off an NCAA B qualifying time. In the 200 Free, Sarah Rinsma took fifth in 1:57.28, while Kitayama picked up another second place finish in the 100 Back with a time of 57.92. The time is just 0.01 seconds off her time in the first leg of the 400 Medley Relay Friday night and is the fifth fastest time in school history. The freshman now owns the third, fourth and fifth fastest times in program history in the 100 Back.

Tsay followed that with a win in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:08.37. Cathy Howard then took third in the 1650 Free, clocking in at 18:10.38. The Blue Jays took another win, this time in the 200 Medley Relay as Kitayama, Cristina Cusumano, Ladd and Rogers finished in 1:48.94. Kitayama followed with a win in the 200 Back with a time of 2:04.86, the third fastest time in school history. Rinsma was the Blue Jays' top finisher in the 100 Free, with a time of 54.17 for sixth place. Tsay followed that with a second place finish in the 200 Breast, clocking in at 2:29.95. Meaghan Heslin then took third in the 200 Fly, finishing in 2:12.05. Hopkins closed out the day with a win in the 400 Free Relay. Rogers, Villegas, Tsay and Ladd combined for a time of 3:34.32.

Hopkins returns to action at the Terrapin Cup hosted by Maryland, November 18-20.
