PRINCETON, NJ - Junior Kielan Crow led Johns Hopkins with eight goals and 10 points on Sunday as the Blue Jays beat Harvard (14-6) and dropped a close one to 19th-ranked St. Francis (9-8) in the final day of the Princeton Invitational. Hopkins improves to 6-2 on the season in the team's best start since the 2005 season - when the Blue Jays went 24-6.

Hopkins opened the day with a sound 14-6 win over the Harvard Crimson behind hat tricks from Crow and classmate Ross Schofield. Hopkins jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and led 7-2 at the break. The Blue Jays closed out the game by outscoring the Crimson 7-4 in the second half. Crow and Schofield each had three goals and two assists, while junior Alex Whittam chipped in two goals, four assists and three steals. Freshman Wes Hopkins scored a pair of goals with one helper and three steals. Freshman goalie Danny Ovelar made 10 saves with four steals while allowing just the six goals. Ovelar and the Hopkins defense held Harvard to just 2-of-6 on man-up opportunities.

Hopkins then ran into a tough St. Francis squad, a perennial power in the Collegiate Water Polo Association. The Blue Jays fell behind early as the Terriers led 3-1 after one and 7-4 at the half. Hopkins rallied in the third and fourth quarters to make it a 9-8 game and had the ball with time winding down but could not get the equalizer. Crow exploded for five goals, a career-high, and had four steals. Freshman Johnny Beal chipped in a pair of goals and junior Eli Levitt had a strike as well. Ovelar finished with eight saves and two steals as the defense held the Terriers to just 1-of-6 on man-ups.

JHU returns to action at the North-South Championship hosted by Navy September 17-18. Hopkins will take on Brown on Saturday, September 17 at Noon in Scott Natatorium and then will face Iona for the third time this season at 7:30 pm on Saturday in Lejeune Hall.
