BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins sophomore Wes Hopkins scored 11 goals and added eight assists to lead the Blue Jays to three wins on Saturday in the Navy Invitational. Hopkins defeated Washington & Jefferson (22-6), Northern Virginia (18-12) and Notre Dame (OH) (20-6) to improve to 9-2 on the season.

JHU opened the day with a dominating performance against Washington & Jefferson as the Blue Jays improve to 13-0 all-time against the Presidents. Freshman Blake Range scored a career-high four goals and added an assist top pace an offense that topped 20 goals for the fourth time this season. Hopkins and seniors Kielan Crow and Ross Schofield each chipped in hat tricks, while Hopkins also doled out a career-best six assists. Sophomore Danny Ovelar made five saves in two quarters of action and freshman Erik Henrikson made four saves.

The Blue Jays followed that with a six-goal win over Northern Virginia, led by a four-goal performance from Schofield. Six other players scored two goals apiece for Hopkins and five players had at least four points in the match. Henrikson stopped seven shots and had one steal in two and a half quarters of work in the cage.

Hopkins capped the day with another 20-goal outing, taking down Notre Dame (OH) in the first ever meeting between the two schools. Due to facility issues at Navy, the match was moved to Hopkins' Newton White Athletic Center. The Blue Jays jumped all over the Falcons in the first half, outscoring the visitors 17-1. Hopkins scored a career-high six goals, just one shy of the school record, and also grabbed three steals and handed out an assist. Schofield scored four goals and dished out four assists. Ovelar played the first quarter and made five saves while allowing just one goal. Henrikson did not allow a goal and also blocked a five-meter shot in the second quarter. Sophomore Jacob Dorn made a pair of saves and swiped a pair of steals in the third quarter. Classmate Scott Weigel closed out the match with eight saves, including one on a five-meter, while allowing just two goals.

Hopkins returns to action at the Navy Invitational on Sunday, facing Fordham (1 pm) and Connecticut College (3:30 pm).
