BALTIMORE, MD - Four different Blue Jays finished in double figures including senior Alyssa Fleming, who finished with 15, as Hopkins powered past Gettysburg 69-59 Tuesday evening. Fellow senior Fatu Conteh posted her second doubled-double of the season, adding 10 points and 10 rebounds in the team's fourth straight Centennial Conference victory. Hopkins improves to 5-2 and 4-0 in the Centennial with the win, while Gettysburg drops to 4-2 and 2-2 in the conference.

After going up 32-29 at half, the Blue Jays went to work extending the lead in the second. Sophomore Katie Clark hit both of her two three-pointers in the second half, helping Hopkins maintain its lead and fend off any scoring runs from the Bullets.

Hopkins made key plays down the stretch to secure the victory, and finished 19-29 from the charity stripe in the second half. After a free throw from Jessica Porter cut the JHU lead to four with 4:58 remaining, the Jays went on a 7-0 run to take a 60-49 lead with 2:34 left in the game. The Bullets never recovered, and Fleming hit her final six free throws in the closing minutes to seal the deal for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays raced out to a quick 12-4 lead in the first half, as the team produced open looks and executed on the offensive end. Gettysburg was able to climb back into it at the 9:04 mark, as a layup from Caroline Murphy gave the Bullets an 18-17 advantage. The teams traded baskets again, and Gettysburg took its final lead of the evening after a three pointer from Alyssa Isler made it 27-26. The Jays closed the half with a 6-2 run, capped off by jumper from Fatu Conteh with seven seconds remaining.

Hopkins will be back in action this Thursday, December 5 when the team travels to face Swarthmore (3-3) in Swarthmore, PA.
