ALLENTOWN, PA - Senior Pamela Vranis had two goals, and three other Blue Jays scored as No. 2 Hopkins shutout Muhlenberg 5-0 Saturday afternoon. Junior Hannah Kronick finished with four points, with a first half goal and two assists to help Hopkins earn the victory.
Kronick opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal in the ninth minute, and senior Kelly Baker netted her third of the season on an assist from Kronick in the 18th minute.
Hopkins got things started early in the second half, with a goal from Vranis off a corner kick from freshman Ana Bengoechea. Two minutes later, Sophomore Maryalice McKenna scored her second goal of the season off another assist from Kronick. Vranis wrapped up the scoring for the Jays in the 55th minute on an assist from Christina Convey to seal the victory.
Hopkins improves to 9-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference with the win. The Jays will return to Homewood Field on September 28 to face Swarthmore in the team's third conference matchup of the season.
