Johns Hopkins, Ursinus Battle to Scoreless Draw

CCOLLEGEVILLE, PA - Johns Hopkins and host Ursinus battled through 110 minutes but neither team could find the go-ahead goal in a 0-0 draw Saturday in Centennial Conference men's soccer action. The Blue Jays are now 7-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference, while the Bears are now 4-6-2 on the season with a 1-3-1 mark in the CC.

Hopkins outshot Ursinus, 10-5, including a 5-2 advantage in the second half but could not get one past Bears' goalie Brian Gately. The Blue Jays also had a pair of corners to none for the Bears. Junior Kenny DeStefano had four shots, including two on goal, and senior Kotaro Mitsuhashi had three shots on goal.

Sophomore Matt Paris finished with four saves in earning his fifth shutout of the season. Gately finished with six saves for the Bears in his fourth shutout of the season.

Hopkins returns to action on Tuesday, October 14 as the Blue Jays travel to Aston, PA to take on the Neumann Knights. The non-conference game is slated for a 7:00 pm start.
