WESTMINSTER, MD - Three first half goals by
Vania Ludman,
Alyssa Conti and
Hope Lundberg led the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays to a 3-1 win over the McDaniel Green Terror Tuesday afternoon.
Ludman got the goal scoring started with a quick flick of the ball into the back of the net off a pass from Alyssa Conti off an Allie Baker corner. The goal was Ludman's first of the season and the assists were the first for both Baker and Conti.
The second goal of the game came from Alyssa Conti as she headed in a corner from Alyssa Morgan and put it in the back of the net. The third goal came from Hope Lundberg off another assist from Kronick. The assist also put Kronick atop the conference's all-time record in career assists with 36. For Conti, the goal was her third of the season, while it was the first for Lundberg.
The second half began with a McDaniel goal by Catherine Wroblewski, narrowing the margin of score to 3-1. But it was too little too late, as the Green Terror's offense couldn't muster enough offensive firepower to complete a comeback.
The Blue Jays are next in action for senior day on Saturday as they host Gettysburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Homewood Field.
