Blue Jays Defeat Dickinson in Four Sets

CARLISLE, PA - The Johns Hopkins volleyball team played its first match in 17 days Tuesday and picked up right where it left off before the two-plus week hiatus.

The Blue Jays defeated host Dickinson in four sets to win their fourth straight match and improve past .500 for the first time since a season-opening victory over St. Mary's (MD). JHU is now 10-9 this season and 6-1 in Centennial conference play.

JHU played with the minimum six players for the duration of the match and five of those players finished with 10 or more digs. Elizabeth Wuerstle led the way for Hopkins with 10 kills and 14 digs. Kristi Rhead also helped lead the Lady Jays with 34 assists, 10 digs and four kills.

Hopkins returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts McDaniel in its final regular season home match. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Goldfarb Gymnasium.
