Box Score

BALTIMORE, MD- The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team dropped a Centennial Conference contest to McDaniel Tuesday night, falling 64-51 in Goldfarb Gymnasium. The loss evens the Blue Jays' CC record at 1-1 as their overall record slips to 2-3.

Brittney Davis banked in a three-pointer 21 seconds into the game for McDaniel and set the tone for the game which saw the Green Terror sink eight three-pointers, while the Blue Jays converted just one.

Hopkins was able to recover from Davis' initial three-pointer, as it trailed by just two after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was a different story, however. The Blue Jays held a 12-10 lead with 7:12 left in the quarter before McDaniel went on an 11-0 run to take a 21-12 lead of its own. The Green Terror would increase their lead to 30-16 as the teams headed into the locker room for half time.

JHU was unable to cut into the McDaniel deficit in the second half, and the Green Terror extended their lead to as many as 20 early in the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays had one of their best offensive quarters of the young season in the fourth, scoring 24, but McDaniel was able to match them and win the game 64-51.

Last year's Centennial Conference Player of the Year, Lindsey Nichols, led all scorers with 19 points on 7-23 shooting. Liz Tommasi was the Blue Jays' leading scorer for the third consecutive game, finishing with nine points. Katie Clark's five assists tied her season best for the Jays.

Hopkins will be back in action Saturday for its final conference game of the calendar year. The Blue Jays will head to Collegeville, PA to take on Ursinus at 1:00pm.
