GETTYSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins wrestling team closed out the Centennial Conference dual meet portion of its schedule on Saturday as the Blue Jays fell to 23rd-ranked Ursinus, 27-9, before bouncing back with a 28-10 victory against Muhlenberg. The Blue Jays finish with a 3-5 league record on the year.

Hopkins got a pair of wins on the day from seniors Paul Bewak and Welles Sakmar at 125 and 165, respectively, in their final regular season matches. Bewak scored a pair of wins by decision, including a 2-1 win over Chris Donaldson of Urusinus in a matchup of wrestlers who have both earned All-America honors during their career.

Sakmar took a 5-4 win over Gnobela Seri from Ursinus and took 19-4 technical fall victory from Che Chengsupanimit of Muhlenberg.

Sophomore Jared Forman rounded out Hopkins' double winners on the day as he defeated Cody Richmond of Ursinus, 5-2, and pinned Jake Gordon of Muhlenberg in 4:48. His win against Ursinus trimmed the UC lead to 15-9 with three matches remaining, but the Bears took a pair of wins by decision and added a pin to secure the victory. Forman's pin against Muhlenberg was the fifth of six straight wins the Blue Jays took with the run a victories turning a 3-3 tie into a 28-3 lead.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, February 14 when the Blue Jays travel to McDaniel for the 2015 Centennial Conference wrestling championships.
