• The Short Story: Johns Hopkins wrapped up the Navy Labor Day Open with wins over Fordham (12-8) and Diablo Valley (17-15). The Blue Jays are now 4-0 to start the season for the third time in the last four years.
How it Happened
• Johns Hopkins and Fordham battled from the start, as it was tied 2-2 after the first quarter and the Jays held just a one-goal lead at the half.
• Hopkins came out of the break and extended its lead to three by the start of the fourth (8-5). The Blue Jays needed the extra cushion as they outscored the Rams by just one in the final period to the 12-8 win.
• It was another close one in the nightcap versus Diablo Valley. For the first time this season, Hopkins trailed after the first quarter as DV led 5-4.
• The Blue Jays rebounded in the second, outscoring DV, 5-3, to take a 9-8 lead into the half. Once again, JHU came out strong to start the third, scoring five goals and allowing just two to go up 14-10.
• Diablo Valley wasn't going away, turning the tables on Hopkins in the fourth (5-3). But Hopkins got stops when it needed it to hold on for the win.
What it Means
• Johns Hopkins is now 4-0 to start the season for the third time in the last four seasons.
• Hopkins is 18-2 all-time against Fordham and has won six straight in the series.
• JHU is 4-0 all-time against Diablo Valley, with the four meetings being decided by a total of 11 goals.
Inside the Box Score
• Junior Matt Fraser and freshman Giorgio Cico each tallied hat tricks for the Blue Jays in their morning match. Senior co-captain Langdon Froomer finished with a team-high five points (1g, 4a).
• Senior Erik Henrikson and sophomore John Wilson split time in the goal to earn the win. Henrikson made six saves while Wilson had four saves and one assist.
• Nine different players scored in the match versus Diablo Valley, led by senior Garrett Davidson's three goals. Meanwhile Fraser, Cico and Froomer each handed out three assists.
• Senior co-captain Kevin Yee drew five ejections and added a pair of goals on the offensive end. Fraser drew five ejections as Hopkins drew a total of 18 ejections on DV.
• Henrikson made seven saves and handed out assist, while Wilson made four stops and dished an assist.

• Johns Hopkins travels to Lewisburg, PA for the Bucknell Bison Invitational next Saturday and Sunday. Hopkins will take on Brown, Washington & Jefferson, George Washington and Mercyhurst.
