GRANTHAM, PA- The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game at Messiah Monday night, falling 59-49.
Hopkins is now 3-6 on the season, while Messiah, which won its fourth straight game, improves to 8-4.
After scoring 31 points in the first half, and taking a four point lead into the locker room at halftime, the Blue Jays scored just 18 points in the second half. The teams were tied at 43 heading into the fourth quarter when Messiah used a 16-6 run to earn the 10-point victory.
The Falcons took advantage of 26 JHU turnovers and were led by Kaitlyn Hoff and Gillian Glackin, who tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Beatriz Williams led Hopkins in scoring for the fifth time this season (13 points), with 12 coming in the first half. Rachel Cook collected a team-best eight rebounds to go along with six points.
The Blue Jays return to action Thursday when they head to Haverford for a Centennial Conference matchup against the Fords. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
