Hopkins Falls to Haverford, 45-38

Haverford, PA- The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team dropped Centennial Conference matchup at Haverford Thursday night, falling 45-38. The loss drops the Blue Jays to 3-7 on the season and 1-3 in CC play.

Haverford scored the first six points of the contest and never looked back. The Fords led 16-10 after the first quarter and maintained a six-point advantage at 25-19 through two quarters of play.

Late in the third quarter, the Fords extended their lead to a game-high 13 on a Katie Cook three-pointer. Hopkins cut the deficit to eight points multiple times in the final frame, but the Blue Jays could not get any closer until Liz Tommasi scored with three seconds left in the game to make the final score 45-38.

Beatriz Williams led JHU in scoring (eight points) for the second consecutive game and third time this season. Lillian Scott added seven points, a new career high for the a freshman.

Samantha Wetzel scored 16 points on 8-11 shooting and collected 11 rebounds to lead the Fords.

Hopkins will be back in action Saturday when the Blue Jays host an undefeated Muhlenberg squad that is ranked #10 in the nation. Tipoff against the Mules is slated for 2:00pm in Goldfarb Gymnasium.
