• The Short Story: The 16th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team fell 3-2 at No. 22 McDaniel Tuesday in Westminster, MD. The Green Terror established a 2-0 lead in the 10th minute and held off the Blue Jays for the victory.
How it Happened
• After a couple of early chances by the Blue Jays, McDaniel got on the board first in the sixth minute. Kirsten Gibson brought the ball into the box with her initial shot for the Green Terror, but JHU could not clear the chance away as the ball was redirected into the goal.
• McDaniel continued with the momentum early in the match as Nicole Hill found the upper right corner in the 10th minute, assisted by Christina Wroblewski.
• With just 0:27 remaining in the first half, Maggie Coulson found Ana Bengoechea, who dribbled the ball past McDaniel's Sarah McDonald to finish on the empty net, cutting the Green Terror lead to 2-1 shortly before halftime.
• McDaniel regained a two-goal lead just 0:44 out of halftime, as Hill combined with Gibson on a breakaway opportunity.
• Hopkins cut McDaniel's lead to one for the second time as Alyssa Morgan sent in a cross to Meg Van de Loo, who finished just inside the right post for the 3-2 score in the 67th minute.
• In the 85th minute, Bailey Monaco fired a shot that required McDonald to make a diving save and gave the Blue Jays a corner kick, but the Green Terror cleared the ball off the corner to prevent JHU from forcing extra time.

• This match marked the first time that Hopkins has trailed its opponent by two goals this season, and the three goals allowed are a season-high for the Blue Jays.
