The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team defeated Muhlenberg 2-0 Saturday at Homewood Field. Seniors, and members of the JHU 25th Anniversary Team, Meg Van de Loo and Ana Bengoechea each tallied a goal in the Centennial Conference win.

How it Happened
• Senior Meg Van de Loo scored first for the Blue Jays in the ninth minute as she put a penalty kick past Muhlenberg goalie Libby Juliano.
• In the 14th minute, Bess Kitzmiller saved a penalty kick try from the Mules' Carly DeNigris, her first save of the match.
Ana Bengoechea finished an assist by Kristen Hori in the 20th minute. Hori passed to Bengoechea over the head of a defender, and Bengoechea one-timed it for the goal.
• The teams played a quiet second half, with neither team finding the back of the net, despite the Blue Jays taking 15 shots to the Mules' two.

Inside the Box Score
Meg Van de Loo converted her second penalty kick of the season in the ninth minute. Van de Loo also recorded two PKs on two attempts in 2015.
• Sophomore Kristen Hori dished out her first assist of the season on Ana Bengoechea's goal in the 20th minute. Hori led the Blue Jays with nine assists in her freshman campaign.
Bess Kitzmiller earned her fifth victory in goal for Johns Hopkins, tallying four saves in her second shutout of the season.
• Johns Hopkins outperformed Muhlenberg in multiple statistics, racking up 28 shots to the Mules' five and earning six corner kicks and not allowing a corner kick by the Mules.

What it Means
• Head coach Leo Weil and the Johns Hopkins women's soccer team picked up the 345th program victory with 2-0 victory over Muhlenberg.

• Hopkins will hit the road to take on Stevenson September 27 at 4 p.m. before heading to Swarthmore to continue Centennial Conference play October 1 at 7 p.m.
