Box Score

The Basics
• Score: Johns Hopkins-82, Muhlenberg-55
• Records: JHU (11-6, 7-3 CC) • MC (8-7, 4-6 CC)
• Location: Baltimore, MD • Goldfarb Gym
• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins got points from 11 different players en route to an 82-55 win over visiting Muhlenberg on Saturday afternoon at Goldfarb Gym. Graduate student Sam Gordon led all scorers with 17 points as the Blue Jays earned their largest win in series history.

How it Happened
• Muhlenberg got off to a strong start and led 8-3 just 2:24 into the contest after an Erik Werheim jumper. Sophomore Daniel Vila cut the deficit to three at the 16:42-mark with a bucket in the paint and that sparked an 11-2 run as the Blue Jays went up 14-10. Vila book-ended the run with a fast-break layup at 14:08.
• Owen McLeod sandwiched a pair of triples around a Kyle Doran jumper and the teams were even at 16 with 11:54 to play. Gordon put Hopkins back on top with an old-fashioned three-point play 22 seconds later. His bucket kick-started a 17-3 run that saw JHU go up 33-19 at the 6:23-mark.
• Sam McClellan hit one of two free throws and Brandon LaRose drained a pull-up jumper to make it an 11-point game 68 seconds later. The Blue Jays answered with four straight free throws from Vila and Gordon as the Jays used an 11-2 spurt to push their lead to 20 with 1:50 to go. The teams traded buckets over the remainder of the half and Hopkins led 46-29 at the break.
• JHU picked up where it left off, opening the half on a 15-5 run to grow the lead to 27, with 14:24 on the clock. Back-to-back three-pointers from sophomore Michael Gardner and graduate student Austin Vasiliadis put the punctuation on the Jays' largest lead of the game.
• The Blue Jays' 27-point lead proved to be to much as the Mules could get no closer than 22 over the final 14 minutes of the game.
