 • The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins women's basketball team fell to Ursinus, 50-41, Saturday in Goldfarb Gym. Lillian Scott and Lexie Scholtz led the Blue Jays with 15 points and 11 points, respectively.
How it Happened 
 • Ursinus doubled up Hopkins 18-9 in the first quarter, scoring the final 10 points of the first quarter to pull away from the Blue Jays. Lexie Scholtz opened the scoring for Hopkins, knocking down a three-pointer 1:58 into the game. Ursinus earned a 6-3 lad with 6:55 remaining in the first quarter before both teams suffered a 2:56 scoring drought. Maggie Wodicka and Marissa Varnado each scored a couple of free throws to give the Blue Jays the lead, 7-6, before Ursinus pulled away in the closing minutes of the quarter.
 • The Bears and Blue Jays traded baskets to begin the second quarter before the teams struggled through another scoring drought. Ursinus broke through, outscoring Hopkins 7-2 to gain a 27-13 with 3:20 remaining in the first half. The Blue Jays rallied to scored the final eight points of the second quarter, including a buzzer-beating layup by Scholtz. JHU outscored UC 12-9 in the quarter, cutting the deficit to 27-21 at the break.
 • The teams played a close third quarter as Hopkins edged out the Bears, 12-11. The Blue Jays came out firing to begin the third quarter, notching a pair of layups in the opening 44 seconds. Another layup by Lillian Scott tied the score, 29-29, with 6:48 to play in the third quarter. Ursinus countered with a 7-0 run to regain the lead, 36-29. Maggie Spitzer scored four points in the final 1:32 to help JHU to a 38-33 score heading into the fourth quarter.
 • Hopkins mounted an 8-4 run to begin the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer from Scott. The Blue Jays cut the Bears' lead to 42-41 with 5:04 left to play. JHU was unable to score in the final minutes of the game, while UC added eight points down the stretch to earn the 50-41 victory.
 • Scott led the Blue Jays with 15 points, while Scholtz added 11 points in the loss. Scholtz also led the team with nine rebounds and made three steals in the effort.
