• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball kept its winning streak alive, winning its 14th-consecutive match, as the Blue Jays took down visiting Washington & Lee in three sets on Friday night at Goldfarb Gym.
How it Happened
• Hopkins won four-straight points in the opening set to go up 5-1 and force a Generals timeout. JHU would get the lead up to seven at 14-7, however, W&L would comeback scoring three-straight points to eventually get the set to 14-11 and then later 19-17. The Blue Jays would score four consecutive points on Louisa Kishton's serve to go up 24-18, and after a point from the visitors, a double block from Natalie Aston and Morgan Wu would give JHU the first set win 25-19.
• W&L scored four consecutive points in the second set to take a 5-3 lead. Hopkins would answer with two points of its own to tie the set at five. The Generals would soon build up a lead on Hopkins, taking a 14-12 advantage which forced a timeout by the home team. Johns Hopkins came back and tied the set at 20 and a kill by Kishton would give the Blue Jays a 21-20 lead. Another double block, this time by Aston and Simone Bliss would win the set for Hopkins 25-23.
• The third set was very close in the early going with neither team building much of a lead. Hopkins scored four straight points to go up 13-8 on the Generals, who would get a kill from Brynne Gould to make the set 13-9. The Blue Jays would continue to build upon their lead and a kill by Kishton would seal the set, 25-16 and the match, 3-0.
What it Means
• With the win, Hopkins has now won 14-straight matches, which is two away from tying the team record for consecutive victories (16).
• JHU improves to 5-1 against W&L and has won the last four meetings.

• Bliss led Hopkins with 11 kills and was followed by Kishton and Rhead who each had seven.
• Aston had 16 assists on the night to lead the Blue Jays while Rhead had 13 helpers in the match.
• Kishton had 12 digs while Nicole Hada had nine.
