? The Short Story: Host Fordham used a pair of three-goal runs to take control of the game en route to an 11-8 win over the Johns Hopkins water polo team Sunday morning.

How it Happened ? Fordham
? The Rams took a two-goal lead on strikes by Massimiliano Mirarchi and Samuel Varshisky in the opening four minutes.
? The Blue Jays answered with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead at the end of the first. Freshman Nico Ivanov got Hopkins on the board at 3:36 and then junior Giorgio Cico tied the game with 55 ticks on the clock. Senior Connor Johnson put JHU on top just 22 seconds later.
? Jake Miller-Tolt opened the second-quarter scoring and tied the game at three just 27 seconds in. Junior Josh Kurtz game right back with a man-up goal with 6:59 on the clock to put the Jays up 4-3. Fordham then scored three straight in a three-minute span to take a 6-4 lead into the half.
? Senior Ryan Masi scored 46 seconds into the third quarter to pull Hopkins within one. But the Rams would get goals from Mirarchi and Ethan Vandeventer to go up 8-5 after three quarters.
? Miller-Tolt struck first in the final period and the home team led 9-5 with 7:17 to play. Senior Jono Gillette scored back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to two with 4:36 on the clock.
? Miller-Tolt got his second of the quarter at the 3:31-mark and the lead was 10-7. Johnson answered 35 seconds later and it was a two-goal game with 2:56 remaining. The Rams would have the final say of the game however, getting one more from Mirarchi to grab the 11-8 win.

What it Means
? Hopkins falls to 19-6 all-time against Fordham as the Rams have won two straight and three of the last four.

Inside the Box Score
? Sophomore Finn Banks led the Blue Jays with three points (3a) while Johnson (2g), Kurtz (1g, 1a), Gillette (2g) and Ivanov (1g, 1a) all had two points.
? Ivanov also drew three ejections with Banks and Masi drawing two each.
? Senior John Wilson finished with 12 saves and a steal.

For the Record
? Wilson's 12 saves against Fordham give him 323 for the season, breaking the single-season mark of 320 set by Jeremy Selbst in 2010. Wilson now holds the single-game, single-season and career saves records. It is just the third 300-save season in program history.
