How it Happened
• Hopkins came out strong and led by five early after back-to-back buckets from senior Ryan Curran and Gordon. Ursinus trimmed the deficit to one with a four-point play by Eric Williams and then took the lead on a Joseph LoStracco jumper at 15:40.
• Zach Quattro gave the Bears a three-point lead just 32 seconds later but sophomore Michael Gardner answered with a triple on the other end to tie the game. Quattro and LoStracco hit back-to-back jumpers to put Ursinus back on top by four with 13:27 to play.
• Gardner cut the deficit in half with a jumper and then junior Jesse Flannery put Hopkins up 16-15 on a bucket from downtown.
• Quattro answered with another jumper at the 10:02-mark to spark a 12-2 Bears' run that saw them go up 27-18. Senior Nikhil Panu drained a three from the top of the key to cut it to six with 5:01 on the clock. Sophomore Daniel Vila and graduate student Austin Vasiliadis followed with buckets to pull the Jays within two with 3:21 to go.
• Ryan McTamney responded with a triple on the other end to ignite a 16-2 run that spanned the final 3:07 of the half and gave Ursinus a 43-27 lead at the half.
• The Bears picked up where they left off at halftime and pushed their lead to as much as 24 points by the 9:55-mark. The Blue Jays were able to trim the deficit to 16 but that's as close as they could get until the final minute.
