• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball extended its winning streak to nine as the Blue jays cruised to 3-0 victories over Susquehanna and Eastern on Saturday afternoon.
Match One Highlights • The Blue Jays opened with a 2-1 lead before the River Hawks tied the match at 3-3.
• JHU would fall behind 17-14, but three straight kills from
Simone Bliss would tie the match at 17.
• The two teams would stay close the remainder of the first set, but Hopkins was able to come away with the 25-23 win.
• Johns Hopkins got out to a quick start in the second set building a 5-2 lead before Susquehanna was able to tie the match at six.
• Hopkins fell behind 13-9, and remained behind until a kill from
Natalie Aston brought the set even at 18.
• The Blue Jays then went on a small run and eventually claimed the second set 25-20.
• In the third set the River Hawks were the team who jumped out to the quick lead scoring the first two points, however JHU would regain the lead and never look back as they won the set 25-18 and claimed a 3-0 win.
Match Two Highlights • The Blue Jays fell behind early in the first set 2-0, but then scored three straight points to take a 3-2 lead.
• The Eagles would tie the set at four, however Hopkins would regain the lead off a kill from Bliss and the Blue Jays would go onto win the set 25-15.
• The two teams would be tied at three in the second set before Hopkins pulled away to a 7-3 advantage.
• Eastern would get to within one point at 7-6, but the Blue Jays would pull away once again and claim a 25-16 win in the second set.
• It was all Johns Hopkins in the third and final set, which JHU would claim by a 25-14 score as the Blue Jays would claim a 3-0 win.
What it Means • JHU has now won nine straight matches and has not dropped a set since September 8 against Mary Washington.
• The Blue Jays are now 4-5 against Susquehanna.
• The win against Eastern is Hopkins first over the Eagles since 1999 as Eastern had won the previous six meetings.
Inside the Box Score • Bliss led the team with 11 kills in match one while
Louisa Kishton led JHU with nine kills in match two.

Kristi Rhead registered 22 assists against the River Hawks and 13 against the Eagles while Aston had 17 assists in match one and 13 in match two.
