? The Short Story: Host and 11th-ranked Princeton handed the Johns Hopkins water polo team its first loss of the season on Friday night with a 9-5 decision.

How it Happened
? Princeton scored the game's first four goals over a nearly 13-minute span. Hopkins finally got on the board with 3:30 to play in the second quarter with a goal from sophomore Carter Young.
? The Tigers answered with goals from Michael Swart and Sean Duncan to push out to a 6-1 lead with 4:23 to go in the third. Junior Andreas Katsis made it a four-goal game with 1:26 on the clock and but Princeton would respond with just 11 ticks remaining in the third to make it a 7-2 game.
? Junior Giorgio Cico opened the fourth-quarter scoring to once again make it a four-goal game. Princeton answered just 18 seconds later and the teams would trade goals for the remainder of the game.

What it Means
? Hopkins suffers its first loss to fall to 4-1 on the season.
? The Blue Jays are now 5-49 all-time against the Tigers, who have won seven straight in the series. This is the first meeting between the former league rivals since November 2015.

? Cico led the Blue Jays with two points (1g, 1a) and three steals. Katsis also had two steals and two points (1g, 1a).
? Senior John Wilson made 12 saves in the cage while holding Princeton to just nine goals. It is the fewest goals scored by the Tigers this season. Princeton was averaging 16 goals per game entering the contest.
