• Hopkins opened the day with a tough 17-10 loss to host Columbia, last year's NCAA runner-up. Junior
Adam Katwan and freshman
Evan Lau each won two bouts, with Katwan getting the clincher, as the Foil squad won 5-4. Freshmen
Eryk Kokosinski and
Paul Lam each won a bout for the Sabre squad (2-7). Sophomore
Neel Maddineni led the Epee squad (3-6) with a pair of wins.
• The Blue Jays then grabbed a 17-10 win over the Ducks by sweeping all three weapons. The Sabre squad edged the Ducks, 5-4, with Kokosinski and Lam each winning two. In the Foil (7-2), Lau, freshman
Noah Park and senior
Solomon Polansky combined for six wins for the Jays. The Epee squad earned a hard-fought 5-4 win, led by junior
Tiger Gao's three wins.
• Hopkins ended the night with a loss to NJIT, 19-8, with the Highlanders sweeping all three weapons. Kokosinski won all three of his bouts in a tough 5-4 loss for the Sabre squad. Katwan and Park each won a bout for the Foil squad (2-7) and Gao won two for the Epee squad (7-2).
