INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team has earned an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Tournament it was announced this afternoon. Hopkins will travel to top-ranked Messiah and will face Washington & Lee on Saturday, November 10.
 
Hopkins (13-4-1) is making its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and fifth under head coach Craig Appleby. JHU has made 16 NCAA appearances and is 17-14-6 all-time in the tournament. Last season, the Blue Jays advanced to the round of 16 before falling in a shootout.
 
Washington & Lee (14-3-1) is making its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on Sunday. This will be the ninth meeting between the Blue Jays and the Generals and first since 2007. Hopkins lead the series, 5-3-0, and won the last meeting.
 
Host and defending NCAA Champion Messiah (16-0-3) will take on Baruch (8-5-4) in the other first-round match on Saturday. The Falcons won the MAC Commonwealth Championship in a shootout over Lycoming on Saturday to earn their 29th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Baruch topped Staten Island in a shootout to win the CUNYAC and grab its first NCAA Tournament trip since 2014. This is the Bearcats sixth overall appearance in the NCAAs.
