How it Happened
? Hopkins opened the day with a 23-4 win over Rutgers, with all three weapons grabbing a win. Junior Brian Huang led the Sabre squad (7-2) as he went 3-0 against the Scarlet Knights. Senior Milan Patel and freshman Neel Maddineni each went 2-0 to lead the Epee squad to an 8-1 win. And in the Foil (8-1), it was senior Jared LeBron and freshman Eashan Gupta going 2-0 each.
? The Blue Jays followed with a 21-6 win over the Big Red of Cornell, with all three weapons once again winning. Huang and senior Sandy Vingoe went a combined 6-0 to lead the Sabre squad (8-1). Senior Matthias Philippine won two of his three bouts to lead the way for the Epee squad (6-3). Junior Solomon Polanski won all three of his bouts to lead the Foil squad to a 7-2 win.
? Hopkins then defeated Lafayette, 21-6, with all three weapons earning a win. Vingoe went unbeaten in the round to guide the Sabre squad to a 6-3 win. In the Epee, Maddineni, Patel and senior Lyle Poisson each went 2-0 in the team's 9-0 win. Gupta went 3-0 to lead the Foil squad to a 6-3 win.
? Drew gave Hopkins the closest battle of the day but Hopkins would take the 19-8 win on the strength of 8-1 wins by the Sabre and Foil squads. Gupta and sophomore Jake Joram also went a combined 6-0 for the Foil squad.
